Aw, all you have to do is friends lock all your posts, at the bottom where it says security, there's a little pull down bar that says Everybody (public) and you can click on it and it set it to Friends :D

Oh no, you don't have to do that. Most people either put it in their userinfo or they have one post that's public, so if someone wants to friend you, they see just that post and the banner and then they comment if they want be added to your friends list :)
